A new dimension for books
From 3 to 5 October 2012, the Fira de Barcelona will be hosting a new edition of Liber, the biggest trade fair for the publishing industry in Spain and one of the most important events for the Spanish-language publishing sector.
The show, which on this occasion will be celebrating its thirtieth anniversary in Barcelona, will once again be one of the key events for the sector, bringing together publishers, writers and international buyers with a view to generating business and promoting exports.
The future in Liber Digital
The publishing industry has successfully crossed the analogue boundary so this edition will be devoting a special sector to new digital formats. This will include e-books and the wide variety of different high-tech supports available for downloading and reading books.
The spotlight is on Paraguay
The South American country will be the guest of honour next year, showcasing some of the most well-known figures from Paraguayan literature such as Josefina Pla, Gabriel Casaccia, Elvio Romero, Rubén Bareiro Saguier and Augusto Roa Bastos. Paraguay picks up the baton from Rumania, the guest country of the 2011 edition of Liber.
